About Us

Information about our family:

What's happening with our lives at this current time:

Eric teaches at Farnsworth/Cleveland Aerospace Magnet where he is the computer resource teacher. He has been at Farnsworth since 2001. This school year, Farnsworth merged with Cleveland Junior High School to become a PreK-8 grade school, focusing on Aerospace and Aviation. He started his teaching career in 1992 with the Bloomington Public Schools District.

Eric graduated with a B.S. in Teaching and a minor in Coaching from Winona State University in Winona, MN. More than 10 years later, he returned to Winona State through a cohort and obtained his Master's degree in Education. He is finished with his course work at Hamline University and has his Keyboarding License K-6 as well.

Eric's interests includes: playing golf, soccer, basketball, traveling, collecting cards, reading the newspaper, and surfing around in the Internet.

This past summer, Eric and Tammy went to Vietnam, Laos and Thailand on a school funded trip. It was nice to see his birth place, Sayaboury, Laos.

Tammy is a Kindergarten teacher at Farnsworth/Cleveland Aerospace Elementary since 2006. She was at Crossroad and Eastern Heights Elementary before coming to Farnsworth.

She obtained her Master's degree through Winona State University and is currently working on her ELL (English Language Learner) aka ESL endorsement license. She went through the district's TQE Fellowship Program but just needs to pass her endorsement exams. Still trying after her 5th time at it.

Tammy enjoys reading romance novels, swimming, traveling, camping and just added..Shopping! She spent a lot of time shopping while visiting Vietnam, Laos and Thailand. It was a fun trip!

Elijah is our youngest and has a lot of energy to burn. He is in first grade and is one of the smaller child in his class. His English vocabulary is progressing slowly.

Elijah's Hmong name is "Kawm". Kawm means "to learn" in Hmong. He was named after one of his Great Grandpa "Vam Kawm".

He is picking up bad habits from his older brothers. He is learning to use profane language. Video game is becoming his favorite activity. He did do very well in soccer this year. This December '08, Elijah had tubes in his ears and anodes in his nose.

Derek is in third grade and his teacher is Mrs. McWatt. He is good at spelling, math, computer, and gym. He is a good reader.

His Hmong name is "Huas" (Houa). He was named after his Great Grandpa "Nom Huas". Houa means to "to grab" (best I could think of).

Derek enjoys fishing and playing computer games. He does not like clowns but he doesn't know that he is a clown himself. Derek went with his mom to Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX last school year and wanted to go to Florida this year but no money. It would've been nice for him to see a space shuttle launch.
